NGINX and htaccess protection for vhosts was created by azurelinksc
Hola Jose,

I just migrated my sites to a new Plesk server with CentOS and nginx.
When I wanted apply the .htaccess rules I got the following warning in SCP:

You are using a NGINX server, so you will need to ADD THE RULES MANUALLY to your virtual host configuration. NGINX servers does not support .htaccess files.

Where do I put these rules? In an http.conf file?

Please elaborate.

Thanks

Hola! :)

You should get an option to download the rules and then apply them manually to your config file, which is usually located into _nginx/sitesavailable/default: scpdocs.securitycheckextensions.com/options/htaccess_protection

Thanks Jose. My host, Media Temple says that my server runs both and the htaccess files will work. Their tech gave me this page of info about Apache with NGINX which I will have to read:
docs.plesk.com/en-US/obsidian/administra...he-with-nginx.70837/

So I think I'll have to copy and paste the rules I generated in SCP into the clean htaccess file from my Joomla version. I suppose by pasting it manually into the htaccess file, it won't show up in SCP as having been applied to the file.

You're welcome!

I don't usually work with nginx servers so I can't confirm that the "applied" tag will be shown (maybe you can confirm that everything works fine).

Regards,
Jose
