Please help. I just installed Security Check and activated the Backend Protection by adding an extension to my admin url. This part worked, i.e. mysite/administrator failed but mysite/administrator/?myextension took me to the admin login screen. When I tried to log in using my admin credentials I received a "Not Found, The requested URL was not found on this server."
Front end is still working but I desperately need to get into the back end.
I tried disabling the plugin but the problem still exists.
The backend protection is set into the .htaccess file into your root folder. Just access to it and delete or comment the line between "Begin - End Securitycheck Pro Backend protection". Also there is the key, so you can check it to be fully sure it matches with the key you are using to access to backend.
Thanks for your quick reply. I checked and there was nothing written in the htaccess (htaccess.txt) file - the permissions are set at 0644, should I change this and try setting the backend protection again ?
It's odd; backend protection writes its entries into .htaccess (the htaccess.txt file is a boilerplate to generate a default .htaccess). If there is nothing into the .htaccess file then try cleaning your browser's cache or using other browser. If this doesn't work send me ftp credentials (use the email from which you receive forum notifications).
